Separate the appearance from the construction
Two doors can share a panel pattern while using different construction, insulation or glazing. Ask each installer to identify the precise product being offered. Color samples and window placement deserve attention, but they are not a complete description of the door.
Check the work around the door
Compare old-door removal, tracks, spring hardware, operator changes and finishing. Ask what happens if the opening needs additional work. Optional accessories should be named separately so a lower headline total does not conceal a smaller scope.
Retain the product and installation record
Ask how project-specific requirements will be verified and which documents you will receive. Where association approval applies, complete it before placing the order. Keep the final specification, care guidance and written terms together for future service.
Your questions
Does a new door include a new opener?
Not necessarily. Confirm whether the existing operator can be retained and whether any operator work is included in the proposal.
Is insulation the only specification that matters?
No. Fit, construction, glazing, required performance and the installation scope also affect the choice.
