State whether the remote, keypad or wall button produces a response, and note any safely visible status indication. Avoid repeated tests when the door is crooked or struggling. A light color or click provides information but does not by itself prove a failed circuit board or sensor pair.
Include the whole replacement alternative
If repair is unsuitable, request the proposed operator, supported accessories and retained equipment in writing.
