Tell us which assembly stopped working
Label each garage opening if the property has more than one. Include any prior replacement invoice and describe whether the door is fully closed or partly open. Do not copy a spring choice from the other bay; similar exteriors can conceal different sizes, construction and earlier repairs.
Keep the final scope easy to revisit
Ask the invoice to identify the repaired opening and any connected hardware work. If damage requires a whole new door, Lake Park’s Community Development and CAP resources are the local project starting point. That replacement decision and its documentation should be clear before a different product is ordered.
Your questions
Is trying the opener once a safe way to confirm a broken spring?
Avoid further cycling after suspected failure. Describe the sound, position and observations already available instead of using the motor as a test.
Does a longer spring always last longer?
Dimensions alone do not establish suitability or service life. Have the specification and any cycle-life claim explained for the complete system.
