Identify added weight and previous changes
Tell us if glazing, decorative hardware or a replacement section was added before the lifting problem began. Those changes can matter to the assembled door; a spring selected from an old invoice may not describe its current configuration. Supply the invoice if available, but leave measurement and selection of tensioned components to the technician. Keep people away from a door that will not stay controlled.
Ask what the repair restores
The proposed work should explain the counterbalance correction and any related component damage. If a premium-looking door has deteriorated hardware, appearance should not decide which parts remain in service. Henry’s can discuss the repair on its mechanical merits and distinguish optional refinishing or replacement from the work needed for appropriate operation.
Your questions
Can stronger springs compensate for a damaged section?
A different spring is not a structural repair. Section damage and counterbalance need separate assessment within the same system.
Do I need to release the door before the visit?
Do not release a suspect or unsupported door. Tell us its position and leave it undisturbed while arranging service.
