List which commands still work
Tell us whether the wall station, vehicle remote and keypad behave differently. Keep the model number and any displayed code available, but do not remove covers or disturb wiring to find a fault. If the door is skewed or resists movement, leave it stationary. An electronic symptom and a physically damaged door require different checks, even when they occur together.
Agree on what the completed repair includes
Ask whether the proposal covers only the failed component or also replacement controls and setup. If the opener cannot reasonably be repaired, compare a complete installation with the accessories you actually use. The finished job should leave clear instructions for the chosen controls, protective functions and any battery feature; an app subscription or connected accessory should not be assumed included.
