Choose a specification the installer can follow
Record the door size, construction, windows, finish and required performance together. If keeping the opener, include compatibility assessment. Separate optional appearance choices from the equipment necessary to complete a suitable installation.
Use the City’s current paperwork
South Bay provides permit applications and related building requirements on its official website. Confirm which documents apply to the actual job and who supplies them. Keep revisions visible if the ordered product or opening work changes; the final record should describe the installation that was actually completed.
Your questions
Is a new door always supplied with all new controls?
No. Remotes and keypads belong to the operator arrangement. The proposal should specify whether they are retained, replaced or configured.
When should I discuss removal of the old door?
At the proposal stage. Confirm removal, disposal and any site preparation along with the new product so the scope is complete.
