Use the original records as a starting point
Available builder or installation documents may identify the current door, opening and finish. Compare those records with the actual site before choosing a replacement. New glazing, construction or tracks can change the proposal even when the exterior color remains familiar.
Prepare the accepted project documents
Westlake requires approved plans and relevant supporting material to be available onsite for inspection. Agree who maintains that record and updates any accepted changes. Keep the ordered product consistent with the final scope instead of leaving a different window arrangement or substituted model to be explained after installation.
Your questions
Will a matching catalog color guarantee the same appearance?
No. Texture, lighting and aging can affect the result. Review a suitable sample and the chosen design before ordering.
Can I keep my existing controls with a new door?
Discuss both the retained opener and its accessories. Their suitability should be assessed with the new door rather than inferred from normal operation today.
