Trace the change since the last visit
Bring the earlier repair description and explain whether normal operation returned before the present problem appeared. A noise that sounds familiar is not proof that a replaced component has failed. The technician needs to distinguish original hardware, replacement parts and any later impact or alteration.
Put the findings in a usable record
Request a description of the observed fault, components serviced and remaining recommendations. Where a larger replacement requires municipal paperwork, use the current Greenacres process rather than an old application. Keeping service and installation records together helps the next provider understand what is actually fitted.
Your questions
Should I discard the old invoice?
Keep it with the new report. It may identify parts or a model that cannot be read from the outside of the door.
Can I keep operating while the sound is being diagnosed?
If movement is uneven, hardware appears damaged or the door strains, stop using it. A recording already taken safely is more useful than repeatedly recreating an unsafe condition.
