Describe each bay separately
For a home with more than one door, label the affected bay in your request and identify its operator. Doors sharing a driveway may have different sizes, ages or control equipment. Ask for a separate condition finding for each assembly before agreeing to identical work across all of them. This makes optional improvements easier to distinguish from a needed repair.
Keep inspection results with the final scope
The Village’s online building-permit system allows permit tracking, inspection scheduling and viewing inspection results. Where a project requires that process, keep the relevant record alongside the installation invoice. Delivery of the door, installation completion and a required final inspection are different milestones; ask who is coordinating each one.
Your questions
Should both doors be replaced if only one is damaged?
Not automatically. Evaluate the affected assembly first, then consider matching appearance and the condition of the other door as separate decisions.
What record should I retain after an installation?
Keep the final product specification, written work description, care instructions and any applicable inspection result together. A payment receipt alone does not describe the installed assembly.
