Plan access for the whole appointment
Identify who will open the property, authorize changes and receive the completed-work explanation. Those roles may belong to different people. If vehicles are trapped behind an unstable door, mention that condition without attempting to lift or disconnect it. For a planned installation, clear only the safe accessible work area and ask what further preparation is needed.
Keep a person available for inspection
Tequesta’s inspection guidance asks for the address, permit number, inspection type and a responsible contact. Its virtual-inspection guidance also identifies an onsite participant and suitable phone connection. Confirm the accepted inspection format for your particular project; the Town’s general list of window-and-door permits is not an automatic determination for every garage-door scope.
Your questions
Can an inspection always be booked at an exact time?
The Village warns that exact inspection times are not guaranteed. Coordinate access using its current scheduling guidance rather than an assumed installation arrival time.
What should an absent owner arrange?
Name an authorized property contact and decide how any additional work will be approved. Keep the product selection and access instructions in writing so the appointment does not depend on an unavailable decision-maker.
